Development
The Society of Irish Foresters is dedicated and commited to delivering and ensuring all our members obtain the required CPD points throughout their careers.
The Society of Irish Foresters introduced a programme of Continuous Professional Development in 2003, as a means of confirming that professional foresters are keeping up to date in current forestry practice and other topics relevant to their professional development. This programme was revised in 2016 with support from the Forest Service, Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine, under the Knowledge Transfer and Information Action measure of the Forestry Programme 2014 – 2020.

Irish Forestry is a peer-reviewed journal publishing forestry research articles.
It also covers all aspects of practice, history, policy, culture and related areas of forestry interest in Ireland.
Irish Forestry has been published continuously by the Society of Irish Foresters since 1943. It is Ireland’s only academic and technical publication on forestry. Full text articles (1943 onwards) are available free of charge as PDF files for all but the most recent three volumes.
